Information we collect

When you create an account, we collect your email address, authentication and security records, your broad age category, and records showing which Terms and safety disclaimer you accepted. When you use account progress, we receive learning activity such as answers, scores, and practice history. If you submit question feedback, we receive your note and the question and answer context. If you contact support, we receive the information you include in your message.

Age screening

We ask only for birth month and year to determine whether account creation is available. We do not store the date entered. For account holders, we retain only the resulting category—13–17 or 18 and older—and the date a minor should be screened again. Children under 13 cannot create an account.

How we use information

We use information to operate and secure accounts, save learning progress, provide requested features, send transactional account emails, enforce age-appropriate settings, review question feedback, troubleshoot problems, and improve the service. Guest learning progress stays on the device unless you choose to submit feedback; it does not automatically transfer into an account. We do not use account emails for unrelated marketing without separate permission.

Service providers

We use Supabase for accounts and synced learning data, Vercel for app hosting, and providers for domain, security, and transactional email. Support and privacy email sent to our published addresses is forwarded through Cloudflare Email Routing to an iCloud mailbox. Developer-only Question Studio tools may send working question drafts and research summaries to OpenAI for editorial help. Learner account records and answer histories are not automatically sent to these AI tools. We may also disclose information when legally required or needed to protect users and the service.

Course purchases

If we offer paid courses through Apple in-app purchase, Apple processes the payment. We receive product and transaction identifiers and purchase status to verify, restore, or revoke course access, and associate eligible purchases with your account identifier. We do not receive your payment card number.

Public features

Leaderboard participation is optional and is limited to adult accounts. Teen accounts remain private. Do not use a real name or other identifying information as a public display name.

Retention and choices

We keep ordinary account and learning data while your account is active. You may change your email or password, or request deletion from Account settings. When account deletion completes, we remove your ordinary profile, age and policy records, legal acceptances, account-linked question feedback, and saved learning activity, including synced free-course and ordinary practice history, from the live app database. We disable sign-in. Guest feedback is not reliably linked to a later account and may remain after that account is deleted.

A limited authentication record and deletion marker remain. Limited access, security, publishing, or purchase records may remain linked to the retired account identifier. A private conflict outcome may remain for a different active participant; it contains the conflict kind, reason, and month, without your answers or source identifiers. These records cannot restore deleted learning progress. Copies may also remain in service-provider logs and backups. Support and privacy email remains in our mailbox until manually deleted. We do not promise immediate removal from those external copies.

After server-confirmed deletion in the iPhone app, the app attempts to remove that account’s local downloads, practice, and unsynced answers. If device cleanup is incomplete, Account settings offers Retry cleanup. Guest data and other accounts’ data on that device remain. The web version offers a separate choice to clear data stored in that browser. If paid courses are offered, a claim after deletion requires separate support review; deleting an account does not itself restore access, answers, or progress. For access, correction, retention, or deletion questions, contact us using the address below.

Security and contact

We use reasonable safeguards, but no online system can guarantee absolute security. Privacy questions and account-data requests can be sent to privacy@aboardandable.com.
